Problems we fix

What we can fix on your ceiling

Cracks and hairline fractures

Settlement cracks and hairline fractures are common in Perth homes. We fill with flexible compound, prime and repaint so the repair disappears. Not patched over.

Water stains and damage

Water damage from leaks or condensation leaves brown stains that bleed through regular paint. We seal with a stain-blocking primer first, then repaint to match the surrounding ceiling.

Sagging and damaged plasterboard

Sagging or damaged plasterboard is cut away and replaced. We patch seamlessly and finish so the repair is invisible under the new paint.

How we work

From assessment to finished ceiling

1

Assessment

We inspect the ceiling damage and identify the underlying cause, whether water ingress, settlement or age. Understanding the cause prevents the same issue coming back.

2

Repair

Plasterboard is patched or replaced, cracks are filled with flexible compound, cornices repaired and water-damaged areas treated with stain-blocking primer.

3

Preparation

Repaired areas are sanded smooth and feathered into the existing surface. Texture is matched where required. Masking protects walls and floors.

4

Paint and finish

The ceiling is painted with premium flat white ceiling paint, or your chosen colour, ensuring the repaired section blends completely with the rest of the room.

Ceiling repair questions

For small cracks and localised damage, a spot repair and blend is often possible without repainting the entire ceiling. For larger damaged areas, repainting the full ceiling gives a more seamless result and avoids visible patch lines. We advise the best approach during the assessment.

We colour-match and texture-match the repair to your existing ceiling. For smooth ceilings, this is straightforward. For textured ceilings, we use matching techniques that blend the repair. A whole-ceiling repaint always gives the most seamless result.

Yes. Sagging plasterboard is cut away and replaced with new sheets, which are set, sanded, primed and painted. For minor sagging from loose batten screws, we can re-screw and fill without a full replacement. We assess each situation individually.

Yes. We strongly recommend resolving the water source before we repair and repaint. Painting over an active leak means the stain will return. Once the source is resolved, we apply a stain-blocking primer that permanently seals the stain before the final paint coat.

Yes. We repair cracked, damaged or detached cornices using flexible cornice cement. For severely damaged sections, we replace with matching cornice profile. After repair, the area is sanded, primed and painted as part of the ceiling fix.

A straightforward crack repair and paint takes three to five hours including drying time for a standard room. Plasterboard patching or larger damaged areas may require a full day due to plaster set and drying time. Water damage repairs requiring stain-blocking primer may need two visits.
